Abstract

This paper describes the changes in the teaching of History in secondary schools in Argentina introduced by the reforms imposed by Education Acts of 1993 and 2006, especially with regard to citizenship training through the study of the last military dictatorship (1976 -1983). In the second part, we seek to find evidence of the achievements and limitations of these innovations from quantitative data obtained by applying a survey of 15 -16 year old students of that level.
