PAST - PRESENT RELATIONS IN EDUCATION OF HISTORY

Abstract
What is the meaning and usefulness of the teaching of history in secondary education considering the relations between past and present (RPP)? To answer this question we analyzed the social representations 4th year students. Was investigated from a qualitative approach, applying questionnaires to a sample of students. Data were analyzed from grounded theory, establishing four types about. RPP: encyclopedic, teacher of life, comparative and comprehensive. Topics that students reported to establish RPP are: economic crises, political issues, war, society, human rights and technology. This study will be completed later with classroom observations and teacher interviews, to find out if they establish relationships between past and present, and how. This will extract elements for education of temporality.
